Mateo Seré

Welcome! I am an economist and Postdoctoral Researcher at University College London (UCL), on the 2025/26 economics job market.

My research examines gender and diversity in labor markets, combining large-scale data with machine learning to study barriers facing women and underrepresented groups in academia, media, and firms. I also develop methods to improve cross-country comparisons of subjective well-being by accounting for cultural differences in reporting behavior.

My most recent research, conditionally accepted at the American Economic Review, analyzes gender dynamics in academic seminars.

I am also affiliated with the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics.
